Hi there; Thanks for stopping by! My name is Taylor Dengler-Schlicher, and I am excited to meet you and/or work with you! I am a professionally trained classical singer and educator. I received my Bachelors degree in Vocal Music Education from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. While at Luther, I studied with Dr. Edwin Andereck. As a liberal arts school, this institution blessed me with a sheer love of learning, and a well-rounded appreciation for the world around me and various content areas. I then went to University of Northern Iowa, where I obtained an M.M. in vocal performance, with a strong focus in vocal pedagogy. I studied voice with Dr. Jean McDonald, and was coached by Dr. Korey Barrett. My favorite, and most rewarding role while there was Romilda in Handel's Serse. UNI gave me a deep understanding of vocal anatomy, which I use in my own singing and teaching. This leads to a scientific, straight-cut approach to healthy and successful singing in various styles. While at UNI, I had a private voice studio of high school students who have gone on to have successful college music careers. I currently teach vocal music to 7th - 12th graders and work with all state, show choir, madrigal choir, curricular choirs, general music, and more. Please check out the rest of my website for information on rates for lessons and events, as well as photos and recordings. I look forward to meetings and working with you! ~ Taylor Dengler-Schlicher
